7 Tips to Clean Your RV at Home!

Just as important as maintaining your regular car is keeping your RV clean, inside and out! But keeping your vehicles sparkly clean doesn’t have to be expensive… In fact, you can do it at home.

Plus, by maintaining it and keeping it clean, you’ll extend the life of your RV and keep its value. Here are 7 Tips to Clean Your RV at Home!

    1. Find a Multi-Use Cleaner - To clean the surface of your RV, find a multi-use product. Make sure to avoid strong chemical ingredients, as these can have a damaging effect on your RV, your health, and the environment.

    2. Try It On a Small Surface First - If you’re unsure about your new cleaning product, try it on a small, out of sight area on your vehicle. Once you’re satisfied with the results, use it on the rest of your RV.

    3. Vacuum the Flooring - With a high-quality, durable, and convenient vacuum cleaner, make sure to clean every inch of flooring in your RV. For extra convenience, be sure to use a cordless vacuum.

    4. Use a Microfiber Cloth - You’ve already got the multi-purpose cleaner. Now you need something to use to wipe the car, like a microfiber cloth. Microfiber cloths are incredibly effective, non-abrasive, super absorbent, easy-to-clean, and, best of all, cheap!

    5. Clean With the Top-Down Method - To properly clean your RV with minimal streaks, follow the Top-Down Method. Start with the roof and work your way down the windows and body of your vehicle, eventually getting to the tires. Then, head inside and clean from the ceiling to the floor.

    6. Break the Cleaning into Sections - Look at your RV and visually cut the exterior into quarters. Work on each quarter until you leave it sparkling, then do the same in the interior. Move room-by-room to ensure that each part of your interior is properly clean.

    7. Don’t Forget the Grease & Grime - Cleaning products work best when used regularly. Some RV owners forget to pay attention to black grime, tree sap, bird poop, and bugs. The longer these items sit on your RV, the harder they are to clean.

Always remember that regular maintenance is important to extend the life of your vehicle, and it’s cheaper to do regular cleaning than replacing your items or entire vehicle.
